Professional Development Award Purpose

Certification Preamble

ISM-Pittsburgh believes personal professional development is a strategic decision and a valuable benefit to the supply management profession.  Certification is a critical first step in your supply management development.  So, we ask you, why wait to get certified?    The benefit of obtaining your certification can be immense and the ISM-Pittsburgh Board of Directors knows that it does not come without a significant cost.

ISM-Pittsburgh is aware that while some employers have an educational reimbursement program, others do not.  Therefore, ISM Pittsburgh wants to help you in your efforts to become certified.  We are pleased to offer a professional development award for the calendar year 2011.

 The award will be given for achievement of a CPSM or CPSD certification. A maximum of five awards will be available annually and granted on a first come basis. The sum of passing scores for accreditation achieved will be used for a possible tie-breaker.

Requirements:

Current ISM member in good standing for at least 3 years.

Attend at least 2 Forum/Dinner meetings during the year preceding application.

Completed application submitted within 1 year of certification.

Proof of  CPSM or CPSD certification achieved.

Original copies of receipts(no date limit).

Restrictions:

Re-accreditation expenses are not eligible for award.

Reimbursement will be made for only one test per module.  Costs for repeated tests will not be accepted.

Member must not receive reimbursement from his/her company for the submitted expenses.
