Here is what's happening...
- The Institute for Supply Management of Pittsburgh (ISM-Pittsburgh), a 700-member organization that supports supply management practitioners in the Pittsburgh area through professional and personal development, is launching a new mentoring program for its membership following a successful six-month pilot initiative. ISM-Pittsburgh members interested in participating in the mentorship program can click here to obtain an application to participate as a mentor or mentee or request an application from Lisa Romango at klromango@aol.com . Applications must be submitted by December 1, 2008. The formal mentoring committee will review all applicants. Mentors and mentees will be paired based on criteria designed to achieve maximum benefit for all participants. Thank you for your interest and participation.
- Current C.P.M.s who do not meet the minimum requirements
for the new qualification will be encouraged to maintain their expertise through
recertification. Professionals will have the same ability to recertify as they
do now. The C.P.M.s main focus covers the operational aspects of purchasing, but
also includes supply functions such as agreements, negotiations, technology and
relationship management.
